Yet, within the magical universe of Golden Mountain, her distinctive eye becomes her source of empowerment. Through this journey into Westerwood's enchanted realm, MEMRY discovers her inner strength, transforming her weakness into newfound confidence and power to fight evil.

TRAILER

MEMRY

MEMRY is a first-generation Asian-Canadian adolescent who resides in urban Canada with her mother and grandmother. Her mother, an immigrant striving to provide a better life for her daughter, often exhausts herself with work, leaving her unaware of Memry's struggles. Memry was born with a birth defect—a malformed eye. Her right eye lacks an iris and sclera, appearing entirely black in contrast to her left, brown eye. Unfortunately, at the age of 14, Memry is all too familiar with the cruelty of her peers, who use her eye as a means of bullying, causing her to withdraw into herself.

KIN FI

KIN FI

The unforgiving Outlands, a desolate wasteland beyond the imposing Great Barrier, serves as the harsh realm where Kin Fi, the malevolent ruler, harbors ambitions of amassing power by seizing control of the coveted Drift, casting shadows over the land.

Talk directly to KIN FI to know more about his dark existence and his terrifying home, The Outlands.

THE CREATURES OF WESTERWOOD

Uncover the wonders of Westerwood—a realm inhabited by extraordinary beings blessed with the mystical power of Drift. Surrounded by the protective Great Barrier, this enchanting land serves as a vibrant haven, shielding its residents from the lurking malevolence that lies beyond. Here are some of its amazing residents.

TUSSOK
(SOCKS)
TERBIUM

Tussock Terbium, better known as Socks, is a candle pilot bred to assist the evil Kin fi in the Outlands. An outlier amongst his own kind, Socks recently escaped the Outlands to make a new life for himself on the other side of the Great Barrier. But as most Westerwoodians know candle pilots to be faithful to Kin Fi, many of the folks Socks meets on the other side of the Great Barrier are suspicious of him. In spite of this, Socks tries to maintain a positive, light-hearted disposition. He is a bit of a trickster and he loses focus easily, but he has a good heart and a great sense of humour, warming quickly to Memry and becoming her primary companion.

VALERIA

Before the rise of Kin fi, the nordic sirens lived on islands at sea. Their people would find and lead lost ships back to safety, alert sailors of oncoming storms, and provide fish and freshwater to creatures lost at sea. After the rise of Kin Fi, it was no longer safe for the nordic sirens to live in their homes in the ocean. Fire rider ships would too frequently pass through their waters and islands, so they relocated to the mainland. Intelligent, curious, wise, and inherently trustworthy, the nordic sirens became the Keepers of the History of Westerwood. In their homes, they kept and studied artifacts donated to them by the people and creatures who wanted their history noted and remembered.

MOREL

Morel is a mysterious figure in Westerwood. Rumoured to be older than Westerwood itself, she lives atop a mountain near the Great Barrier's northernmost border. When spotted, which scarcely happens, she usually appears as an apparition, as she is unable to leave her mountain home. Morel is stoic, wise, and solitary. She is motivated by the desire to restore peace to Westerwood; she wants it to return to the way it was before the creation of the Great Barrier and the Outlands. Memry must embark on a treacherous journey to meet Morel in her mountain home, where their training will truly begin...

THE OUTLANDS

A terrifying place, the Outlands is a barren wasteland that sits outside the Great Barrier. It is home to Kin Fi and his victims. When Westerwoodians are kidnapped by the fire riders, they are brought to the Outlands to be stripped of their Drift and left to wander lifelessly about outside the Great Barrier. Ancient Westerwood lore states that the Outlands did not exist prior to the creation of the Great Barrier. But for now, it remains a very real, very dangerous place of nightmares.

MERCY

Dutiful and obedient, Mercy is Valeria and Kin Fi’s niece and the daughter of Garelle. Having mastered the art of Nasamma (dark Drifting), Mercy joined her uncle in the Outlands following the creation of the Great Barrier. Though she is only a teenager, her powers are unlike anything Westerwood has ever seen. Mercy leads Kin fi’s army of fire riders, periodically venturing into Westerwood from the Outlands only to kidnap innocent Westerwoodians and bring them back to Kin Fi so they can be stripped of their Drift. Though not inherently evil, Mercy takes orders from Kin Fi and has all but forgotten what life was like before the Great Barrier.
